Sustainability

Prioritizing the wellbeing of our community has been instrumental in Maywufa’s success. Our patient-centric philosophy led to innovating healthcare across several industries.

However, our efforts to give back to the community go beyond the business scope. We regularly sponsor and host charitable events. Each year, we donate millions of dollars, sponsor thousands of products, and worked with hundreds of people on improving their health. Notable work from previous years include:

1. Sponsoring the John Tung Foundation’s “Healthy and Moving Campus” initiative to teach children and young adults how to properly de-stress and take care of their own mental wellbeing.

2. Sponsoring Standard Chartered Bank’s charity marathon to promote sports as a healthy lifestyle. We set up a booth to educated how to properly care for their hair.

3. Donated to Kaohsiung Medical University’s School of Pharmacy to further its development.

4. Collaborated with Huashan Social Welfare Foundation to encourage the donation of adult diapers to the elderly. To kickstart the donation, the Healthcare Franchise began with a donation of 300 boxes of adult diapers.

5. Donated 1,135 bottles of shampoo and conditioner to Chung Yi Children’s Home, Bethany Children’s Home, Changjang Institute of Rehabilitation, Tainan’s Chao Hsing Social Welfare Foundation, and the Good Shepherd Social Welfare Foundation. Through the Bethany Children’s Home, we donated needed materials to indigenous communities and their partners and donated through the Good Shepherd Social Welfare Foundation to other children’s homes.

6. During summer and winter breaks, the Healthcare Franchise worked with NTU, Kaohsiung Medical University, and Taipei Medical University to provide internship opportunities to pharmacy students – 21 students interned for 3,360 hours.

7. A branch of the Healthcare Franchise in Tainan donated scholarships to the Taiwan Fund for Children and Families branch in Tainan, to help students from economically disadvantaged families.

8. The Pharmacy Franchise, besides providing local communities with consultation services, also worked with primary schools to teach children proper use of medication.

9. The Pharmacy Franchise joined Taipei City’s Federation of Dementia Care as a partner pharmacy, to help care for the elderly suffering from dementia in local communities. With our charitable works, Maywufa aims to make positive impacts in the local and global community. Our commitment to change is reflected in both our business and community-based actions.
