Maywufa Group Joint Investor Conference: Three Pillars Drive Diversified Growth – [Commercial Times]

Maywufa Group delivered good news at its joint investor conference on the 2nd. Maywufa (1731) continues to consolidate its leading position in daily consumer goods and has introduced a smart factory; PhytoHealth (4108) emphasized advancing internationally with its two flagship drugs, PG2 (懷特血寶) and PhytoHealth Tong Bao (懷特痛寶); and AmCad (4188) is entering the global market with AI medical devices and point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS).

Maywufa President Yu-Ju Lai noted that with its multi-brand strategy the company holds the top spot among Taiwanese brands in the domestic shampoo market. Its Maywufa series continues to consolidate its share in hair color and hair care, while the emerging brand SAHOLEA has expanded into the intimate care category, becoming one of its growth drivers.

In addition, Mustela, the French mother-and-baby care brand it distributes, has maintained its sales performance despite the low birth rate. The brand-new GMP green building factory was completed and put into operation at the end of 2024, raising production efficiency, and an MES (manufacturing execution system) has been successfully introduced, so capacity can fully meet business growth.

PhytoHealth President Yi-Ling Lee said that PG2, listed in the latest clinical guidelines as a first-line prescription drug for moderate to severe cancer-related fatigue, has been on the market for 15 years, is covered by National Health Insurance, and is used by 90% of Taiwan's medical centers. Real-world data released last year showed that 91% of patients had improved symptoms and 85% were assessed by physicians as showing overall efficacy, with the results published in international journals and at conferences.

The analgesic new drug PhytoHealth Tong Bao is the world's first oral nalbuphine formulation, with low addictive potential, and has been introduced in more than 30 hospitals in Taiwan. In the first quarter of this year, PhytoHealth signed a letter of intent (LOI) with the well-known German pharmaceutical company Aristo Pharma, and expects to begin regulatory registration in the fourth quarter of 2025 to enter Germany's analgesic market, worth nearly US$200 million.

AmCad BioMed, which focuses on AI medical devices, has obtained certifications in multiple countries, including U.S. FDA and EU MDR, and holds 31 patents and more than 60 international journal papers. Chairman and President Yi-Li Lee said that AmCad has established six product lines: AmCAD-UT (thyroid), AmCAD-UO (sleep apnea), a cytology detection product, a breast detection product, AmCAD-UV, and an acoustic scattering tissue imaging platform. Four of these have received U.S. FDA 510(k) clearance, giving it a complete market footprint with potential for continued expansion.

AmCAD-UT has an accuracy rate of more than 90%, has been introduced in more than 30 hospitals and clinics in Taiwan, and has entered National Health Insurance sandbox discussions, with coverage possible before the end of the year.

In addition, AmCAD-UO is used for the detection of sleep apnea, with the advantages of being fast and non-invasive. It is being validated in collaboration with a number of medical institutions in Taiwan and abroad, and a demonstration site has been set up in the Middle East. The company is also advancing handheld AI ultrasound (POCUS), completing its first government procurement in Jordan in 2025, and will further expand into Europe, the United States, and emerging markets.
